Beth's Educational Philosophy: I believe that teachers play a unique role in each child’s life. Teachers need to be loving, caring and empathetic. Teachers need to create a safe environment where children can learn. I love it when my kids are so comfortable that they accidently call me "mom." There have to be boundaries set up too, so children can learn to follow rules. The most important thing that I want them to learn is how much Jesus loves them and that He made each and every one of them special.

Marcia's Educational Philosophy: A number of years ago, my pastor gave a sermon about the many people God has placed in our lives to nurture and guide our faith – parents and family, Sunday School teachers (I still remember mine – Mrs. Wilkins!), day school teachers (Mr. Bergant was so kind and wonderful!), Walther League leaders, friends, and so many more. That’s how I hope to fulfill my call to teach – to be a guide pointing to Jesus for the children placed into my care. I strive to encourage, excite, and motivate my students to grow academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

Kathy's Educational Philosophy: I believe that education is extremely important to the development of our future generations. I feel that I have been given the awesome task of educating and nurturing the next generation both academically and spiritually. I need to share my knowledge with my students, and help them grow in their faith walk with Jesus Christ. In the classroom, I would like to see students succeed academically and spiritually. I would want them to use the gifts that they have been given to their full potential. I want to be a support and encouragement to my students and help them achieve success.

Steve's Educational Philosohy: I love being a teacher. It is still exciting for me to see the 'light bulb' go on when a student understands a concept. Teaching in a Lutheran school adds the extra dimension of being able to talk about Jesus all day, every day, in every subject. I hope to bring my students and families closer to Jesus as we walk through this school year.

Lori's Educational Philosophy: I believe that God has created each child as a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating environment in which to grow and mature spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas and their faith. There are three elements that I believe are conducive to establishing such an environment, (1) the teacher acting as a guide, (2) allowing the child's natural curiosity to direct his/her learning, and (3) promoting respect for God, His creation, self, and others.

For my part, I am very grateful to be a part of this family environment, and I will continue to encourage Christian values, high academic standards, accountability, and the physical and emotional security that children need to grow and be our future.
